ACE UK Engineering Consultants Ltd is seeking a Technical Engineer / Engineer (Professional, Design) to support engineering-led design, coordination and technical consultancy work on UK construction projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing technical design information, including sketches, drawings, specifications, schedules, material details, construction methods and finishing requirements. The role requires strong technical understanding of construction design, fit-out coordination, engineering interfaces and multidisciplinary project delivery.
The scope of work will include developing design solutions, reviewing project drawings, assessing technical feasibility, identifying design risks, coordinating with architectural, structural, MEP and contractor teams, and resolving technical design issues during the design and construction stages. The candidate will also support the preparation of technical reports, design coordination notes, drawing registers, material specifications, compliance records and project documentation.
The role will involve attending client meetings, consultant coordination meetings and site visits where required. The candidate will liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams to ensure that design information is accurate, coordinated, buildable and suitable for project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing technical sketches, drawings, schedules and design specifications.
- Reviewing architectural, structural, MEP and fit-out drawings for coordination issues.
- Assessing construction methods, materials, finishes and technical design solutions.
- Providing technical consultancy support to clients and project teams.
- Coordinating design information between consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Identifying and resolving design clashes, technical risks and buildability issues.
- Supporting site inspections, progress reviews and technical meetings.
- Preparing project reports, design review notes and technical documentation.
- Ensuring design information aligns with project requirements, quality standards and construction best practice.
- Supporting current and upcoming UK construction consultancy projects from design stage through to project delivery.
Applicants should have relevant engineering, technical design or construction consultancy experience, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and coordinate design information across multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication, problem-solving, organisational and documentation skills are essential.
